Living in Queensland
Queensland offers international students opportunities to excel
academically while enjoying a choice of recreation and leisure activities
available in Queensland's relaxed, outdoor lifestyle.
Queensland is a safe, friendly and diverse society with a stable
government and robust economy. Students can experience modern, urban
life in many of Queensland's towns and cities, as well as experiencing
a range of natural environments including national parks, rainforest,
reefs and the world's most beautiful beaches.
Queensland's cities and regional centres offer a great many cultural
and arts events such as pop, rock and dance concerts, theatre, opera,
ballet and gallery and museum experiences.
Festivals throughout the year showcase local and international
talent. Many internationally famous sporting teams and players also
call Queensland home, including cricket, rugby union, Australian
rules football and swimming.
In Queensland there are places of worship for a range of religions
and faiths. Local markets and shopping centres provide multi-ethnic
food supplies and Queensland restaurants offer cuisines from around
the world.
Queensland has a state-wide transport network that allows ease
of movement between urban centres, the coastal beaches, islands
and reefs, the rainforest and the outback.
International flights are available directly to four airports in
Queensland. Educational institutions can meet students at the airport
and assist students with finding accommodation that is appropriate
to their needs.
